Local Governing Bodies

The Trustees of The Goldfinch Trust provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Trust, ensuring it remains focused on its purpose of delivering high quality education and care for learners with special educational needs and complex health needs.

They are responsible for setting the Trust’s strategic direction, providing constructive challenge and support to executive leaders and ensuring strong governance, financial stewardship and accountability across the organisation. Through their collective expertise, Trustees help ensure the Trust is well led, sustainable and able to respond effectively to the complex contexts in which it operates.

Trustees work closely with Trust Members and senior leaders to uphold the Trust’s values, manage risk and support long term improvement for pupils, families and schools.

The Members of The Goldfinch Trust are the guardians of the Trust’s constitution and charitable purpose. They play a strategic oversight role, ensuring the Trust remains focused on its mission to serve learners with special educational needs and complex health needs.

Members provide independent scrutiny and hold the Board of Trustees to account for the effective governance, financial stewardship and long term direction of the organisation. Through this role, they help ensure the Trust’s values are protected and that decision making remains firmly rooted in the best interests of pupils and communities.

Our Members support the long term integrity and sustainability of the Trust as it grows and develops within the specialist education landscape.
