Welcome to The Goldfinch Trust, a multi-academy trust committed to providing high-quality, personalised education for children and young people with medical and mental health needs.
We are a family of schools working together to deliver exceptional teaching and support, ensuring each learner can thrive both academically and personally during their time with us and beyond.
We recognise that no two learners are the same, particularly when educational journeys have been affected by physical or mental health challenges. Our schools offer a safe, nurturing environment that meets learners where they are and empowers them to reconnect with education, rebuild confidence and progress with purpose. Everything we do is centred on the needs of our young people, and our provision is shaped by collaboration with families, clinical teams, local authorities and mainstream schools.
The Goldfinch Trust currently comprises three schools: Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School, St Peter's Centre, and King's College Hospital School. Each school serves a distinct community, yet all operate under a shared vision for inclusive, high-impact education. These settings specialise in supporting learners who are unable to attend mainstream education due to medical or mental health needs.
We welcome schools, professionals and partners who share our vision to explore how we can work together to deliver ambitious outcomes for learners whose needs fall outside of the mainstream model. Whether you are a prospective partner, professional or parent, we hope you find our site informative, grounded, and reflective of the values that shape our work.
I am proud to lead The Goldfinch Trust and to work alongside such dedicated colleagues who share a commitment to providing exceptional education for children and young people with medical and mental health needs. Every day, our schools demonstrate what can be achieved when expertise, compassion, and ambition come together in the service of learners.

The Trust exists to create the stability and structure that allows our schools to thrive, ensuring that staff are supported, standards remain high, and innovation continues to drive improvement. We take a thoughtful, evidence-informed approach to everything we do, with a clear focus on learning, wellbeing, and sustainability.
It is a privilege to see the impact of our collective work—learners re-engaging with education, building confidence, and achieving outcomes that once felt out of reach. The Goldfinch Trust is built on belief in potential and on the shared responsibility to nurture it.
