A Warm Welcome at Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School

We were pleased to host Ade Odunlade, Interim Chief Executive of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), for a visit to our Bethlem school site. The day offered rich insight into how education and clinical care work hand in hand to support recovery.

Seeing Therapeutic Learning in Action

Ade toured newly refurbished areas and classrooms, observed our Learning Pathways model in use, and saw how wellbeing and personalised education shape the daily experience for our pupils.

It was a great day of collaboration and insight, highlighting the importance of mutual learning across sectors.

🚀 The Goldfinch Trust launched a focused consultancy project to strengthen our Trust-wide approach to SEND leadership and school improvement. This will help us build consistency, strengthen practice and keep improving outcomes for learners with special educational needs and complex health needs.

Our pupils made handmade crafts and treats for this years Winter Fayre, raising money for a chosen charity. It was a great way for them to get involved and give something back. With support from ward staff, the event was a big success. Karaoke, hot chocolate and cookies kept spirits high throughout!

🌍Today, pupils from Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School visited Black Cultural Archives in Brixton for the 'Windrush Journeys' workshop. They explored artefacts and stories that illustrate the London experiences of Caribbean communities. One pupil described the visit as “absolutely amazing”!
