World Mental Health Day takes place every year on 10 October. It is a global day to raise awareness of mental health, encourage open conversations and highlight the importance of access to the right support. The World Health Organization describes it as an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues and mobilise support for mental health worldwide.
This year’s theme is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change”, with a focus on making sure people with lived experience are listened to and involved in decisions that affect them.

Staff also work closely with families, health professionals and home schools where appropriate, helping education fit around treatment, recovery and individual need.
Staff across the Trust continue to develop their knowledge through training and professional development in areas including:
This helps staff recognise when a pupil may need something different and make practical adjustments to support their learning and wellbeing.
World Mental Health Day is a reminder to keep talking, keep listening and make space for young people to tell us what they need.
“There is no health without mental health.”
