Exams

Through our sister school, Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School which is an accredited exam centre we are able to facilitate exams with all major exam boards.

If you are entered for exams at your ‘home’ school you can still sit your exams whilst at our school by becoming a ‘transfer’ candidate. This will allow you to take your exams here at the hospital school but any certificates will be from your ‘home’ school.

Our Exams Officer is highly experienced at liaising with schools to facilitate transfer candidacy, and to support your school to apply for special consideration and/or access arrangements.

Where a student has no school or has not been entered for exams, we can (where appropriate), enter students for exams or assessments.

The school prepares pupils for a wide range of external qualifications appropriate to their needs, future career aspirations and academic ability. These include:

  • Functional Skills (Entry – Level 2)
  • GCSEs
  • BTECs
  • A-Levels

Our students sit exams from core subjects – English, Maths, Sciences and IT, to a wide range of optional subjects including, History, Sociology, Physical Education

We have also supported more rare subjects such as Classical Civilisation, and Russian.

We can facilitate BTEC exams and coursework and examples of these have been in Animal Care, Health and Social Care, Sport Science and Applied Science.

Please speak to a member of the school staff to discuss your exam requirements and we will be very happy to support you during exam periods.
