Information for Parents and Carers

The Goldfinch Trust works closely with parents and carers and values open, constructive communication. We recognise that families play a vital role in supporting children and young people, particularly where education is shaped by medical or mental health needs.

Our schools work with families to ensure pupils are supported during periods when they are unable to attend mainstream education, and to maintain continuity of learning alongside care and treatment. We aim to provide clear information, reassurance and practical support throughout a pupil’s time within the Trust.

Working With Families

Across the Trust, staff work in partnership with parents and carers, clinical teams, home schools, local authorities and other professionals. This collaborative approach helps ensure that education is coordinated, responsive and aligned with each pupil’s individual circumstances.

Parents and carers are encouraged to speak with school staff if they have questions about their child’s education, progress or next steps. Each school can advise on the most appropriate point of contact.
